The British Shorthair is one of the oldest cat breeds, believed to have descended from Roman cats brought to Britain. Over centuries, these cats developed into a strong, sturdy breed known for their plush coats and calm temperament. They became popular for their charming personality and distinct “teddy bear” appearance.
